

In addition to the expected burritos, tacos and enchiladas, Mari Luna serves a roster of more complex entrees, including pollo en mole, chicken in mole sauce; cordero jalisco, lamb shanks in a chili sauce; and salmon veracruza, flavored with chili, lime and garlic.
Everything I tried was as lively and inviting as the setting. Starting with the salsa, and continuing to a rich chocolate layer cake for dessert, this was food we couldn't stop nibbling, even after we were full.
In 2003 Chef Luna left a nationally renowned Cuban fusion cuisine restaurant, to realize the dream of his own business. This endeavor, Mari Luna Mexican Grill, came to life in an old ice cream store near the Baltimore County line. Chef Luna, his wife Alba and their daughters created a loyal and cheerful following of happy diners. When Baltimore County began looking for an anchor restaurant to encourage the redevelopment of “Old Pikesville,” the Lunas were their choice.
